Google’s Strategy

July 26, 2011

We’ve given you some tips before about starting your Google+ account, but is anyone interested in Google’s strategy for entering the social media field? I am! I want to know if their ultimate goal is to be Facebook’s biggest upset! According to Eric Schmidt, Google’s Executive Chairman that is apparently not the case. Here is what he does offer about Google’s strategy in the social sphere:

“Our social strategy is to take our current products, get users to give us social information and make our current products better…”

So contrary to popular belief, it looks like Google+ is not out to be the “facebook killer,” or the biggest social network innovation that has ever graced the internet. It looks like Google is more focused on integrating all of its established products and improving the use of those products for its users. That sounds like a good idea to me! To learn more, you can check out the full article here.

What do all of you think? Do you like Google’s strategy?
