The Not So Shocking Scam

July 21, 2011

Would you be surprised to find out that those annoying advertisements you see on your sidebar for weight loss tips and tricks are a scam? I didn’t think so. Surprisingly, enough people are clicking on them (and by enough, I mean the people behind the scam have reached $1 billion in sales). So how does it work? You click the ad, it takes you to some sort of weight loss site where you can obtain a “free sample” of their amazing flat tummy serum and the next month you have 80 bucks automatically deducted from your bank account for more of their useless products. Classic.

We have an idea! How about, if you do not have a viable product to market, then don’t market it at all! If you have to “trick” people into becoming customers then there is obviously something wrong with your product. Just sayin’!

Have any of you been tricked by sneaky ads like these?

Ugh. So frustrating. I love the animated ones where you watch the tummy grow and shrink.
