Your Marketing To-Do List

March 8, 2011

So we’ve talked a little about how to use traditional marketing effectively lately, and I thought it would be nice to have a list of things to keep in mind when creating your plan, you know, if you’re the type that likes to cross things off!

1. The saying, “you can’t please everyone” has never been truer than it is in marketing. Your product or plan won’t appeal to everyone so don’t try to make it so it does. Instead, define the group you want to target and create your plan around that audience.

2. Make sure your marketing plan is diverse! Like our comments in the previous post, traditional media is not dead; it just has to be executed correctly. A combination of television, radio, print and internet marketing can prove to be beneficial.

3. Nurture the relationships that you already have. New business is great, but maintaining repeat clients or customers can be even better. Make sure those people know that you value their business.

4. Whenever possible, get feedback from your audience. You can do this through focus groups or simply request for feedback directly. Don’t forget to evaluate your responses, they are valuable!

 5. Lastly, allow yourself plenty of time. Marketing plans are not created over night. They take considerable time and preparation, and then more time and preparation! Be patient.

We hope these are some things that can help manage your marketing to-do list. Questions and feedback are always welcome!
