Fox’s ‘Glee’ Is Highest Rated Show Among Upscale Viewers

October 1, 2010

“Historically, TV advertisers desire upscale viewers for a number of reasons. They usually buy high-priced consumer products, and they are hard-to-get TV viewers.

In this exclusive demo, Fox’s “Glee” has been one of the season’s high points. The show easily had a top rating of 8.5 among 18-49 viewers making $100,000 or more.”

Robin’s Comments:

Shows like Glee, that reach an upscale audience, present a great opportunity to display a product or service that require a higher household income.  BUT if your product/service does not require an “upscale” viewer don’t discount other programming! Consumers with all incomes buy things. So make sure you know your demographic. Being mindful of your target consumer will keep you from wasting precious advertising dollars.
