Share Your Thoughts With Us… What Works? What Doesn’t? How Do You Track Your Advertising?

September 13, 2010

As an advertising agency we are always researching the latest trends in advertising, media, marketing etc. We’d love to hear from you! We visit our favorite websites everyday to find articles we think are worth reposting and directing you toward, but it would be fantastic to get suggestions from our readers!

If you’re a business owner, what sites do you visit to learn about marketing? What have you been doing to market your business that works? We’ve seen a lot of success combining the power of online advertising with the reach of television advertising.

Our clients have found that TV, radio and cable TV advertising are great for keeping their brands top of mind and online advertising is great for capturing consumers right before they act.

So for example, if you own a healthcare practice and have been advertising your practice on television, most prospective patients will  go online to find your contact information but they only find you online because they recognize your practice name from your traditional advertising.

We suppose you could compare online advertising to phonebook advertising back in the day… before the internet patients would see a TV ad and then go to the phonebook a few days later once they were ready to make the call. Now they just go online. Which presents a new challenge…measuring the effectiveness of your advertising!

If you ask customers/patients how they found your business/practice, be sure to probe a little further. If they say online, ask them more specifics? Through your website? Well that’s great…BUT did they click on your website over your competitor’s because they recognize your brand from your traditional advertising?

Food for thought, what are your thoughts?
